“Nailah King is a modern voice of horror who leaves her readers dripping with dread. Her short story for Night Terror Magazine, "The Dead Last List," is a masterclass in building tension, closing with a quiet, lingering terror.”

Elli Wade
Editor in Chief at Night Terror Magazine

I am a Canadian horror and crime writer now living in Scotland, writing grim stories about haunted Black women pushed to the brink. My work has appeared in the Feels Zine, GUTS Magazine, The Humber Literary Review, Transition Magazine, This Magazine and Carousel Magazine. Nailah's short story "The Dead Last List" was one of the winning entries of Night Terror Magazine's 2024 Horror for the Holidays short story competition.
With more than a decade of experience in chairing panels, serving as a panellist, and facilitating engaging workshops, I have a proven track record of captivating audiences and fostering meaningful conversations.
Sample topics: Black women rage in horror; black women in horror; paranormal horror; Caribbean horror, magic and folklore; messy women characters in horror

“Nailah was easily one of the most knowledgeable and hilarious guests I have had on Writing and Killing Unicorns. Not only was she willing to answer the questions many writers stumble to answer (myself included), but she was also absolutely HILARIOUS without even trying! She was a huge support getting the show off the ground. Nailah also recommended authors for interviews. I cannot wait to have her on another show.”
